Since its foundation in 1994 the mosque has undoubtedly become an invaluable center of worship and activity, with an important role in uniting and serving the community. Parklands mosque has not only provided a prayer facility but has become a well known place of learning in Kenya. Its study circles are delivered by proficient teachers for men, women, youth and non-Muslims interested in learning about Islam.
Parklands mosque operates a madrassa for children and ladies and is involved in various daawah activities. It has an active youth committee that engages in various activities including organizing for Ramadhan and Eid Prayers.
